The Golden Age

In today's society we find people living much longer lives than we are accustomed to 20+ years ago. With advances in healthcare and a better awareness of how important general well being is we as a society are finding ourselves much better equiped to continue our employment well into our "senior" years. Another advantage is the baby boomers are approaching retirement age and that is creating a void and drag on the work force as many employers are finding they are lacking skilled workers. This is opening up a whole new group of opportunities for people in their 50's+. As we grow older we can find ourselves unable to continue in our life choice of a career whether that is by physical demands or work hours. There are many different carrers that can lend themselves to a life smart person that can still be a productive part of the workforce. Some of us find that as we have worked the majority of our life time but haven't put enough away to live as comfortably as we may need to so that can also force us a little bit to stay in the work force past our regular retirement age. Alot of companies will offer their employees early retirement packages and this allows people the opportunity to make a late life style change to possibly change careers to new opportunities they may have never thought of. Companies like SeniorCareerSource.com are designed to assist mature people in seeking out new careers and wanting to cut through the stigmatism that older people can't be a productive part of the work force.175 Whatever your reason for wanting to continue on your working career there are opportunities to do what you want to do if you continue to plan and present yourself in a professional manner.
