This will probably be my last post until after Christmas with all the work that needs to be done around the house to get ready for the big day!
I want to wish all my blogging friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
Enjoy this time with your family and friends :0)

This is going to be a difficult Christmas for me this year. With my husbands job transfer this past summer it moved us 5 hours away from our family and with him working in retail and managing a store it doesn't allow him much time off to travel until after boxing day. So this year will be the first year that I break all the family traditions in 30 years and will not be home for Christmas at all until the 27th or 28th. We will be there until after the New Year to visit with family and friends but it won't be that same. This is something I knew I would have to face at some point but it's still hard. I have been busy thinking up new family traditions to pass along to our kids and hopefully someday we will be back home with our family. Dreams to come true, we just have to believe it will happen. Merry Christmas everyone!

For me, the year 2007 had a lot of happiness (and hope for 2008). Happiness because i see my son, grow and grow day by day. I have a great husband. I met lots of new friends from around the world via blogging ^_^ - Juliana RW

The year 2007 has been a good year for me. Me and my husband had our 10th anniversary, my children are healthy, I got a new great-nephew, and I made a lot of new friends through blogging. ~ Mom Knows Everything

The year 2007, oh wow what a busy year this has been for my family but a lot of great memories. After a fast, busy, hectic long distance move for us we took a much needed summer vacation camping and hanging out on the beach. We had the time of our lives and didn't want to see it come to an end but it had to and we are looking forward to going back next summer. What a year. My greatest memories are getting to spend this time with my husband and children. And blogging I can't forget all the great friends I've made. I couldn't ask for anything more. :0) Rantings of a Woman and Jabber Jaws

We had our first snow storm last night and it was miserable outside, the visibility was really you can see from the picture we couldn't see anything past our back yard. It's hard to believe that as bad as the weather was...when we woke up this morning there didn't seem to be any more snow than we had yesterday before the snow storm...the kids still had fun playing outside today but were a little disappointed with still being able to see the grass.

Window painting is something I have done for many years in the windows of my homes but for the last two years I haven't been able to with having grids in our windows at the new mini home. But as you can see this year with our new home in Cape Breton I have a couple of windows that I was able to paint for Christmas. The kids love them! They are beautiful at night with the window lit up! Happy Holidays :0)

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another.

Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are.

After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, when we are able to go on a nice vacation or when we retire.

The truth is there's no better time to be happy than right now.

If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with..... And remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting
Until your car or home is paid off.
Until you get a new car or home.
Until your kids leave the house.
Until you go back to school.
Until you finish school.
Until you lose 10 lbs.
Until you gain 10 lbs.
Until you get married.
Until you get a divorce.
Until you have kids.
Until you retire.
Until summer..
Until spring.
Until winter.
Until fall.
Until you die.

There is no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

So work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching.

I am going to be happy today---

want to join me?

I have received so many awards over the past couple of months and I thought that it's time to put them all in one place so when I want to sit back some day when I'm feeling down and need a pick me up I will remember all my great blogging friends...this is sure to cheer me up :0)

Thank you everyone who has given me an award....You are the best! - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

Your children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say...

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hand my first painting on the refrigerator and I immediately wanted to paint another.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat and learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that little things can be special things in life.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I felt you kiss me good night and I felt loved and safe.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt but it's all right to cry.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and then I wanted to be everything that I could be.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I needed to know to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

*When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say "Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."

Each of us parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, friend, neighbor or volunteer influence the life of a child.

Let's celebrate National Child Day!

I was given this adorable "friend award" from Tammy from Mom Knows Everything. Tammy is one of my most thoughtful blogging friends who is always giving me these great awards and they are something I will never get tired of getting. These awards always put a smile on my face and I also enjoy getting to pass these awards on to other deserving bloggers. Thank you Tammy!

I am passing this award on to Petula from It's a Woman World, Matt from The Males Perspective, Jocelyn from Hip Mama Blog and Suzanne from Miss Kitty Fantastico.

Today was the day to get out there and get some nice updated family pictures taken for our annual Christams letter to our family and friends. It was a clear, sunny day but a bit on the chilly side but we hung in there, braved the cold and got the picture taken. As soon as we took the last picture of the kids it started to snow...BRRRRR!

It is up with things this year? I guess I can blame things on moving to another province. I am usually done my shopping AND wrapping by now but I have hardly done any shopping yet and I am starting to run out of time. Next week will be a big shopping week for us and hopefully I will be able to start some wrapping. The decorating is almost finished and we still don't have any snow...I wonder what the winters are like here in Cape Breton? Merry Christmas :0)
