Winter go away

We went for the last ski day of the year today, the annual slush bowl and hula day. Normally it's nice and hot and we can go skiing in a tshirt or light sweater. This year was a big change, it actually was the coldest day we went skiing this year and we could only get a few runs in before we had to break to warm up. It's pretty surprising and a shame that this is the last day, there sure is lots of snow left and they could have kept it open for a while longer. It was even snowing today when we were on the hill, just didn't seem like there was the usual closure to the season for us.

A great weekend ahead

Well we have a great weekend planned out, the weather is going to be fantastic and we are planning 2 days full of skiing fun. We love this time of year when there is lot's of snow on the ground but the temperatures are starting to warm up so it will be great fun. We have been so busy lately we are really looking forward to some family time together.

BRRR

One day to the next you never know what to expect, yesterday it was warm and rainy, with the snow disappearing of the ground so fast it made your head spin. Overnight there was a flash freeze and now everything is frozen and the snow has returned. I hear we should be back to rain by tommorrow and we'll start the cycle all over again. It's sure making a mess of the snow hills.GRRRR.....

It's almost time for my Thursday fix of Grey's Anatomy, and thankfully it is a new episode this week. It should be interesting with the return of the Grey's father to the show and more drama on the expecting baby front. I'm getting ready to sit back and relax on the couch and enjoy.

Now for the main course we will have a few choices of pizza to fill up everyone's belly. I am making a couple of favorites this year and really want to  have Pizza Perfected one flavor will be my philly steak pizza with steak and cheese on a 4 cheese sauce the second will be my hot Tabasco special which has grilled chicken, peppers and onion on a special hot sauce made with TABASCO® Original Red sauce and a couple of my own secret ingredients I can't tell you about. I really enjoy using the Original Red sauce as it really brings out the flavor of my other ingredients and puts the heat in any sauce. I wish Mother Nature would just make up her mind, she can't decide if it's going to rain or snow around here. It started out last night with a great snow and snowed overnight so it looked promising for the ski hills, then around lunch it turned over to rain and made nothing but a mess, I'm sure it ruined the ski hill too....grrr..

Christmas Countdow

It's official, 2 days left until we hit Christmas, we are trying to finish up our shopping and hit Christmas spirit here today. We will hit the mall and the grocery store so we can hopefully spend Christmas eve together as a family and spend time together without all the hustle of the mall. It has been raining extremely hard here for the last 4 days, I have never seen so much rain, if it had been snow it would have been to the roof of the house I'm sure. That might have been fun, a white Christmas for sure anyway. We won't see that this year but hopefully at least the rain will go away and give some decent weather to celebrate the holiday, Merry Christmas everyone.

Last minute shopping

Oh my the malls are busy, we went out as a family today to try and finish up our shopping, I can't believe there is only 3 days left. We managed to spend the entire afternoon out shopping up a storm and for the most part the kids were well behaved. There was so much more I would have loved to have gotten them this year but we really just had to stop buying stuff. They will have some surprises for Christmas morning and that is the important thing.

Christmas Baking fun

We had a great afternoon after the Christmas parade went by the house it was time to do some Christmas Baking. We made our traditional shortbread cookies and a family favorite cinniman cookies. It was a real family day which we really haven't had in a long time due to our hectic daily lives and it was a lot of fun for everyone. Even the dogs enjoyed themselves and took advantage of some cookie dough that was hanging close to the edge of the counter.

It's Crunch Time

Ok this is it, the final days before Christmas and we need to get as much finished as possible with the little bit of time we have yet. The morning was going to be a good chance for us as all the kids were home from school and we were going to leave them with our oldest but he made some plans to go to a friends overnight so we will now be taking the kids along with us which will make the shopping much more challangeing. It will soon be over anyway so we will make the best of our morning and see where we are after that.

Well what can you say about a face like this he was having a very good time while we were at magic mountain a couple of weeks back. It was a lot of fun for everyone but I think he was definetly having the best time of everyone as you can tell. It was a full day and everyone was very tired by the time we were finished.

Merry Christmas

It's that time of year when the stores start to get so busy, it's funny because not only are the stores busy but everything gets busy. Work seems to be busier, the kids are all busy with their dance and basket ball activities. Next week brings the kids Christmas concerts at school (different nights of course) and a couple of basket ball games. Soon enough we will be blanketed with a beautiful blanket of white snow and will be enjoying a wonderful turkey supper with family over the holidays.

House

I am enjoying a nice little break to watch my favorite show, House. I always enjoy how they work through the story and in the end come up with some sort of miraculous discovery to save the patient. Tonight was really great with lot's of intrigue and House actually apologizing, of course by the end we discovered in true House fashion he lied about his apology to get what he wanted, go figure but I think that is why people love the show so much.
