Up goes the pool

With the fence finished it was time to get the pool up, we had a great weekend of weather and got up early Saturday to get the pool up. It went much better than last year and we had the pool up and filling in only a couple of hours. By the end of the day it was pretty much full and the kids were having a great but cold time. We bought a new solar cover and it had done a great job warming up the pool so we aren't pulling ice cubes out of the water when the kids are done.

Fun Fencing Project

Our fence was officially done, it had lasted as long as possible, we patched it up for a couple of years but this year it was having no more and we finally brought it down. We have a pool so bylaw says we need to have a fence so before we could set up the pool we had to get our bob the builder caps on and get the section rebuilt. We are able to patch up and give the rest a fresh coat of stain but the section beside the driveway is replaced now and maybe next year we will continue along the rest. It was a lot of fun working together to get the project done and a little stain it will look great.

Kitchen renovation

Now that we are finishing our kitchen renovations I have decided we need to redo the floor as well. Hubby did such a good job with the rest of the house and we have enough flooring left over so we will take it into the kitchen too. I can't wait to get this done because I really hated the floor now that we have the new stain on the cabinets and the flooring will match perfectly. Another project for Hubby but he needs something to keep him busy at night while I'm at work anyway.

New Flooring

I recently went away with 2 of our kids to a Dance competion leaving 2 kids home with hubby. He took the week off of work so he could be around for the kids, I figured he would be lazy and take the opportunity to sleep every day but to my surprise he acutally replaced all the flooring on the main story of our house. It wasn't a total surprise because I ran into one of his co-workers while away as they were putting in time at the mall before taking a flight to Disney. It was hilarious listening to him make up stories of what he was doing all week when I knew he was doing floors. It was too bad because it would have been a real impressive surprise if I didn't know, I have to give him credit for trying.

Shrek the finally

It's coming, just one more day and we will get to see how the journey ends for our friends in Shrek. Even better it will be in 3d so we get an extra special treat. The kids have been talking about it for weeks, we were hoping to go Friday but I have to work now for one of my co-workers Friday and Saturday so we will be planning on going Sunday instead. Sorry kids you will have to wait a couple of extra days to get there but we will enjoy it together.

I'm Lost

Oh no it had to happen the end of Lost is coming this weekend, I really enjoyed the run while it lasted. This was a show that you really never knew where it was going but just couldn't help but watch once you started. I'm not sure why the finally is Sunday and not the regular day hopefully not too many people miss this and are able to watch the finale.

Time Savings

My friend was having a hard time with her parents, they are elderly and have moved in with them in their home. It was important to have them looked after and they were past the point that they could reliability look after their finances and physical needs on a daily basis. Now that there are extra people in the house she was finding it even harder to find the time to get everything done. Running errands and shopping was a luxury that was hard to find the time to do. Mom, why can't we have anymore babies.

Spending the last week away at dance competition, we had to divide and conquer with one of us staying home with 2 kids and 1 of us at the competition. While enjoying a lounge around the pool with some of the other dance moms Kohl was playing with one of the mom's babies, he was having a good time and asked me if I could have another baby. I told him that we couldn't have anymore babies, oh mommy why not he asked I tried over and over explain things to him and finally decided to put in terms he would understand and told him "daddy had his magic removed", the other girls burst out in laughter and he was finally satisfied with the answer.

Career Decisions

I have often dreamed about making a career choice that I will enjoy after the kids are a little bigger and I can take the time to return to school and learn a new trade. There are all kinds of options out there for me but I would like to take something that I enjoy doing and will allow me to work around my family commitments. I have been looking into beauty schools and located the Regency Cosmetology school in Louisiana, this school has been growing rapidly over the last decade and now has 30 locations to serve their students growing needs. There is lots of hands on training with qualified instructors and help with job placement after the training has finished.

Doggy Daze

It will be a sad day next Monday for our pup Riley, he is heading into the vet to have his de-boying proceedure completed. I feel bad for him but it is a necessary proceedure, we are hoping it will have a calming effect on him but I am hesitant to believe that will happen. It had that effect on his older sister last year and now she is a calm and sometimes lazy pet.

Spring Time

It was a warm evening with not a lot on the go so it was time to take the kids out the park to enjoy the night. They had a blast climbing, jumping and swinging on the equipment. It was a lot of fun and the time ended too soon as the kids had to get home after about an hour so they could get ready for school. It is good to think that they only have a couple of months left until the end of the school year and they will be able to enjoy the summer months.

Late night working

We have been putting down some new floors, the other night after arriving home at 1:45am Matt and Jay were putting down the flooring trying to get a head start on the next days projects. We all worked together for a few hours to finish up and it was a blast working away to the wee hours of the morning.

Puppy Dreamin

Now we love our dogs but recently at dance class we met a cute little Yorkie, he was so adorable and Blake loved hanging out with him. I think perhaps in a couple of years we will look into getting another puppy for our family...our forever puppy as Blake calls them. It will give our pups a chance to grow up and get settled in.

Vacation Planning

We are trying hard to be disciplined to save money so we can go off to Disney next year with the kids. We are starting to see some progress with our finances and with a lot of team work we will be able to make it happen. The kids are finally all at the right age to get them there so we really need to be strong to make it happen as soon as possible.

New Laundry Room

I am so excited, our taxes came back and we are finally able to go out and get that new washer/dryer we have been waiting for. It has been a long few months with our crappy old machine. We thought for a couple of weeks we new exactly what we wanted but on the last day we decided to go a different direction and got a beautiful red front load combo with pedestals. It was the same price as the one we wanted but came with a $400 rebate and had all the same features. The rebate will go towards our family season pass at the ski hill so it's definetly a bonus.

Lost...Really!

I just finished watching another new episode of one of our favorite shows LOST, this show is so well written it keeps you constantly guessing on where it is going with the story. The last few years they would show us flashbacks to get to know where the characters came from and why they were the way they were, now they use flash aheads to show you where they will end up but the question is really how do they end up there? It really keeps you thinking and putting the pieces together week after week.

CSI

I watched the most unique CSI I have seen in a long time tonight, usually it's kind of like well if you haven't seen it before it's almost like another show you've seen. This one takes place on the set of a horror film movie production house. The show had moments of comedy and horror in it and kept me glued the entire show, it was really imaginative and cool.

Wedding vacations

With just celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary we realized that since we had never gone on our honeymoon that it was time to make some plans and get away for some time alone to relax. The hardest thing I am finding is deciding on a destination. We do know that we want to go somewhere warm with lots of sandy beaches so we will be looking into some destination weddings to see what kinds of great deals we can get. It will be very romantic to renew our wedding vows in a beautiful setting with just the two of us. Now that I am working again I will be able to start saving up for that romantic trip that I have been wanting to take with my hubby. My kids are destroying the house

Well not the whole house and not all the kids, it's just the 2 younger boys, they have discovered this horrible habit of picking the paint off the walls. It all started with their bedrooms and picking paint while laying in bed but I discovered today that it has moved onto my bathroom with big chuncks of paint now taken off the wall. I am looking on any advise or cause that anyone can think off.,..please help

Exhaution has set in

It finally hit me tonight, I knew it was coming I am finally out of energy and found myself falling asleep on the couch early in the night. I woke up but feel so run down I think I am going to finish this post nad had off to bed really help.
