Giving Back this Holiday Season
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 Imports. All opinions are 100% mine.
It is the season to give back and help support those that are less fortunate, it is especially important to help children at this time of year to have hope and belief that life can be better. Pier 1 is offering two great opportunities to help this cause this holiday season, online you can spread the holiday cheer simply by liking Pier 1 Imports on Facebook, for every new fan Pier 1 gets they will be donating $1 to the Toys for Tots program. Their other program is being coordinated in store through the months of November and December when you can support Toys for Tots by dropping off an unwrapped toy or make a cash donation through the cash register.
I really enjoy shopping Pier 1 Imports for unique and beautiful holiday gifts you just can't find anywhere else.
I found this awesome Snowman dinnerware that will be so much fun for the kids this year, I think Christmas should be all about the kids and anything I can do around the house to make them feel more Christmas Spirit will be my priority. For our house it is all about fun and there is a whole coordinating line of goods to go with my snowman, I think the kids will especially love filling up, or emptying out the snowman cookie jar. Christmas is so much fun and I look forward to every day that we count down to get to our Christmas Day Celebration.

JUST FOR LAUGHS....
A completely inebriated man was stumbling down the street with one foot on the curb and one foot in the gutter.
A cop pulled up and said," I've got to take you in, pal. You're obviously drunk."
Our wasted friend asked, "Officer, are ya absolulety sure I'm drunk?"
Yeah, buddy, I'm sure," said the copper. "Let's go."
Breathing a sigh of relief, the wino said, "Thank goodness, I thought I was crippled."
DEAR MEAT ...(joke)
Both he and his wife decide that they won't tell the kids what kind of meat it is,
but will give them a clue and let them guess.
The kid s were eager to know what the meat was on their plates,
so they begged their dad for the clue.
Well, he said, 'It's what mommy calls me sometimes'.
The little girl screams to her brother, 'Don't eat it, it's an asshole..'

scrub sets
I never realized how many options and choices there really were for medical nursing scrubs until I spent some time helping her in her search for the perfect uniforms. There literally is a scrub set for every occassion if you look for it. It would be quite fun and stylish to work in the hospital profession. It has been a long time since I've had a hospital visit but I can remember all the professionals being in basically the same uniform, same color, quite boring. I would have to say that isn't the case anymore with all the awesome scrubs sets choices you would have to make.

Important coverage
Think about it if someone in your life depends on you for financial support today what situation would you be putting them in if something unexpected was to happen to you. You might be surprised how affordable term life insurance can really be. If it is something you might consider you should consult the experts to see what plan is best for you and and the needs of your loved ones.

Trick or Treat
One of the exciting parts about being a parent sometimes is being able to re-live your childhood through the excitement of your children. For us Halloween was always pretty creative as my Mom would have a big box of assorted parts and pieces of costumes that we got to sort through and try to piece a costume together. This year the kids have a couple of requests, my oldest son isn't quite sure what he's up to, but our daughter will be a witch, Kohl is going to be a pirate or a "cat in the hat", that one seems to be harder to find but we did find one online at halloweenadventures.com, they have every costume you could imagine, and our baby wants to be one thing and one thing only an Optimus Prime (Transformer). We have been doing a lot of searching online at the great Halloween Costume Stores that specialize in costumes for all occasions. Hubby usually has a costume day at work and I will be going back to work next week so we will see if I need a costume for this year. Halloween being on Friday night this year we will hopefully get to start our trick or treating early and get in before it gets too dark as there will probably be a bit more mischief going on around the neighborhood this year. The kids are all bigger this year so I am sure everyone will have a great time treating in their new costumes.

CAKE OR BED
A HUSBAND IS AT HOME WATCHING A
FOOTBALL GAME WHEN HIS WIFE INTERRUPTS,
HONEY,
COULD YOU FIX THE LIGHT IN THE HALLWAY?
IT'S BEEN FLICKERING FOR WEEKS NOW.
HE LOOKS AT HER AND SAYS ANGRILY,
FIX THE LIGHTS NOW?
DOES IT LOOK LIKE I HAVE
GE WRITTEN ON MY FOREHEAD?
I DON'T THINK SO.
FINE,
THEN THE WIFE ASKS,
WELL THEN, COULD YOU FIX THE FRIDGE DOOR?
IT WON'T CLOSE RIGHT
TO WHICH HE REPLIED,
FIX THE FRIDGE DOOR?
DOES IT LOOK LIKE I HAVE WESTINGHOUSE
WRITTEN ON MY FOREHEAD?
I DON'T THINK SO
FINE, SHE SAYS
THEN YOU COULD AT LEAST FIX THE STEPS
TO THE FRONT DOOR?
THEY ARE ABOUT TO BREAK
I'M NOT A CARPENTER AND I DON'T
WANT TO FIX STEPS
HE SAYS, DOES IT LOOK LIKE I HAVE
ACE HARDWARE WRITTEN ON MY FOREHEAD?
I DON'T THINK SO
I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU.
I'M GOING TO THE BAR!!!!
SO HE GOES TO THE BAR AND DRINKS FOR A
COUPLE OF HOURS...............................
HE STARTS TO FEEL GUILTY ABOUT HOW
HE TREATED HIS WIFE, AND DECIDES
TO GO HOME
AS HE WALKS INTO THE HOUSE HE NOTICES
THAT THE STEPS ARE ALREADY FIXED.
AS HE ENTERS THE HOUSE , HE SEES THE
HALL LIGHT IS WORKING
AS HE GOES TO GET A BEER, HE NOTICES
THE FRIDGE DOOR IS FIXED.
HONEY, HE ASKS, HOW'D ALL THIS GET FIXED?
SHE SAID, WELL, WHEN YOU LEFT I SAT
OUTSIDE AND CRIED.
JUST THEN A NICE YOUNG MAN ASKED ME
WHAT WAS WRONG, AND I TOLD HIM.
HE OFFERED TO DO ALL THE REPAIRS, AND
ALL I HAD TO DO WAS EITHER
GO TO BED WITH HIM OR BAKE A CAKE.
HE SAID,
SO WHAT KIND OF CAKE DID YOU BAKE?
SHE REPLIED,
HELLOOOOO..
DO YOU SEE BETTY CROCKER WRITTEN
ON MY FOREHEAD?
I DON'T THINK SO!

Auto repair guidance
I remember what happened to break me finally so I needed to find help when it came to fixing my car. I had some smoking issues and when I took the car into get checked I was told it was my Head Gasket and that it was going to cost me a lot to get it fixed. A friend that was sitting in the shop waiting with me mentioned I should try out a website "RepairPal" to make sure I wasn't getting gauged by the shop. Repair Pal will help you from it's valuable database that knows how much parts and labor should cost for a wide variety of repairs. It was fantasic and I was even able to print out what it should cost me and I was able to take it in with me and show them that they were charging too much. I got the work done for $200 less than what I was originally quoted.
Repair pal is available for a wide variety of areas and if you find yourself in need of Los Angeles auto repair you can check out the site to see how they can help you out.

Accessibility Assistance
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have often wondered where people with special needs or disabilities get their vehicles that transport them around. I recently came across an article that discusses the
NMEDA non-profit association that educates consumers on how and where to purchase a vehicle especially equipped for their specific needs. No to special cases are completely the same and it takes specialized people to meet the modification needs that people with disabilities have with their vehicles. Sometimes it is just as simple of the elderly having difficulty with standard vehicles and just needing some modifications to maintain their mobility, while in other cases extensive modifications might be required to give someone back their freedom and ability to transport themselves from place to place. NMEDA is a great resource for individuals whether they are disabled themselves or care for someone who with special needs. NMEDA dealers have been authorized to sell vehicles that meet the needs of their clients. Taken a step further is the NMEDA (QUP) Dealer which have gone through an accreditation program to ensure quality, safety and reliability within the industry. By checking out the NMEDA website you can find the authorized dealer nearest you to assist you with your questions and getting you back on the road faster. My local dealer is Harding Medical at 3447 Kempt Rd in Halifax, NS Phone: 902-453-6900 only a few hours away, take a minute to find how close your solutions can be.

Jay's Summer Vaction
Jay has been enjoying a 2 week vacation visit to his Aunt's, he was looking forward to this time for months and originally his vacation was only going to be 1 week but that has turned into 2 weeks and now we just gave permission to allow him to stay another week as we are going on vacation in a week and can pick him up instead of them driving him all the way home. I'm sure he appreciates the time to visit family back home and a little break from his siblings.

Canada Day Relaxation
We decided to try something different for Canada Day this year, we had a BBQ and enjoyed the hot sunny day by the pool. It was very relaxing for a change of pace from our busy year of school and activities and a nice way to start the summer. Hopefully next year we spending the day in Florida at Disney Land for our family vacation if all our planning works out, crossing fingers!

Spring Time
It was a warm evening with not a lot on the go so it was time to take the kids out the park to enjoy the night. They had a blast climbing, jumping and swinging on the equipment. It was a lot of fun and the time ended too soon as the kids had to get home after about an hour so they could get ready for school. It is good to think that they only have a couple of months left until the end of the school year and they will be able to enjoy the summer months.

Late night working
We have been putting down some new floors, the other night after arriving home at 1:45am Matt and Jay were putting down the flooring trying to get a head start on the next days projects. We all worked together for a few hours to finish up and it was a blast working away to the wee hours of the morning.
Puppy Dreamin
Now we love our dogs but recently at dance class we met a cute little Yorkie, he was so adorable and Blake loved hanging out with him. I think perhaps in a couple of years we will look into getting another puppy for our family...our forever puppy as Blake calls them. It will give our pups a chance to grow up and get settled in.
