The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered In another race and it won again.The local paper read:

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered The pastor not to enter the donkey in any more races. The next day the local paper headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES THE PASTOR'S ASS.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the pastor To get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news,Posted the following headline:

NUN HAS THE BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The Bishop fainted.
He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farmer for $10. The next day the headlines read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back The donkey and lead it to the high plains where it could run free. The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

Alas .... The Bishop was buried the next day.

My cousin is quickly approaching the end of her High School career and she has been contemplating on what the next step will be for her. She certainly loves to work with hair and make up and has been considering going to a Cosmetology school. She really would like to attend a modern school so she has looked at regency beauty schools, which began in 2002 with just 2 campuses and currently has over 80 with much more expansion to come. I use my fair share of coupons but I am amazed by the new show called extreme couponing. I'm watching a guy get his entire 800+ dollar order for nothing, I can't imagine this type of couponing would work, I've never seen coupons as good as these people find it is completely amazing. The stock piles these people have in their homes is amazing. Perhaps I should work harder at this hobby and try to get all my groceries for free.

This was the weekend that we were waiting for, Jay's championship basketball weekend. The boys did very well winning their first 4 games well and making it to the championship game. It seemed good for the first half, the boys were doing well and looked like they would easily win but the 2nd half proved much more challangeing and the boys got themselves into foul trouble in the end they lost the game. You certainly couldn't ask for more effort and they of course were disapointed in the results, but we were very proud of their play for sure.

We left for home today leaving hubby at our new home while he starts his new job and we go back to finish up the school year at our old home. Now not only did we leave him behind but we decided the dogs would stay with him as well. So Blake said not only do I have to leave my Dad but now I have to leave my dogs too, this isn't a good day. I hope he will be feeling better when we get home and he gets back to school with his friends.

The absolute perfection that arrives with the birth of a new child, imagine all the things that have to go right to develop this little person from a begining of just a egg in her mothers womb. It is so heart breaking when you hear of someone that has a child with a birth defect, even harder when it is possible that it is because of something out of their control. Doggy Sitting

With our process of moving my husband will be going to our new home early as he has a new job to start. We were debating on what to do with our dogs as to where they will stay. We think at this point that they will stay at our new home with him to give us a bit of a break. I'm so disappointed at this latest news from the world of medicine. I heard that it has been discoverd that a drug used to treat epilepsy and migraine headaches has been linked to birth defects in childrens who's parents have taken the drug. Topamax was supposed to be a miracle drug that helped ease the suffering of it's patients. The birth defects cause cleft lips or palets and it is a very scary situation. The Topamax lawsuit was recently launched to bring accountability to the drug companies that have pushed these drugs onto the market. It is so angering to hear of these lawsuits being launched because it means that another group of people have been hurt by those they trusted.

Renovations ahead

We are in the process of moving and this always bring us many challanges and fun times as we close the door on one home and open the door to another. We are trying to keep our costs down this time and we are so busy so we are doing a lot of shopping online to save time and increase our selection of choices from just the local stores. We have decided to reuse most of the furniture in our home but with a few new accessories to change it up for it's new home. One thing we love is our dining room table that seats 8 and is very beautiful. We decided to shop for new dining chair cushion to match our new dining room color. We were excited about all the designs and colors that were available.
Next we were off to the shop for the kitchen dinette table that we have for quick meals or when we entertain extra guests. kitchen chair pads it didn't take long for us to find exactly what we wanted and with a few clicks we had our new kitchen cushions being sent to us in time for move in day.

Our next challange is on the outside of our home we have a large patio but it is covered with a roof making it dark at times. We were able to shop for a plug in chandelier to ad to the roof and really brighten up the entire area. It's a fantastic addition to our deck and really adds beauty to the ceiling area. We will definetely be enjoying some time out in that area this summer.

Dance Competition

Another dance competition is over for the year, it was a successful week with lots of fun for everyone. We were off to Halifax for the Millenium festival and had a great stay. We got to see some of the sites and sounds of Halifax/Dartmouth and more importantly got to see lots of great dance. The kids did great placing with every performance and carrying home lots of hardware. That means there is only one more competition left for the dance year and we are glad to have it a little closer to home.

We went for the last ski day of the year today, the annual slush bowl and hula day. Normally it's nice and hot and we can go skiing in a tshirt or light sweater. This year was a big change, it actually was the coldest day we went skiing this year and we could only get a few runs in before we had to break to warm up. It's pretty surprising and a shame that this is the last day, there sure is lots of snow left and they could have kept it open for a while longer. It was even snowing today when we were on the hill, just didn't seem like there was the usual closure to the season for us.

Christmas Countdow

It's official, 2 days left until we hit Christmas, we are trying to finish up our shopping and hit Christmas spirit here today. We will hit the mall and the grocery store so we can hopefully spend Christmas eve together as a family and spend time together without all the hustle of the mall. It has been raining extremely hard here for the last 4 days, I have never seen so much rain, if it had been snow it would have been to the roof of the house I'm sure. Oh my the malls are busy, we went out as a family today to try and finish up our shopping, I can't believe there is only 3 days left. We managed to spend the entire afternoon out shopping up a storm and for the most part the kids were well behaved. There was so much more I would have loved to have gotten them this year but we really just had to stop buying stuff. They will have some surprises for Christmas morning and that is the important thing.

We had a great afternoon after the Christmas parade went by the house it was time to do some Christmas Baking. We made our traditional shortbread cookies and a family favorite cinniman cookies. It was a real family day which we really haven't had in a long time due to our hectic daily lives and it was a lot of fun for everyone. Even the dogs enjoyed themselves and took advantage of some cookie dough that was hanging close to the edge of the counter.

Ok this is it, the final days before Christmas and we need to get as much finished as possible with the little bit of time we have yet. The morning was going to be a good chance for us as all the kids were home from school and we were going to leave them with our oldest but he made some plans to go to a friends overnight so we will now be taking the kids along with us which will make the shopping much more challangeing. Work seems to be busier, the kids are all busy with their dance and basket ball activities. Next week brings the kids Christmas concerts at school (different nights of course) and a couple of basket ball games. Soon enough we will be blanketed with a beautiful blanket of white snow and will be enjoying a wonderful turkey supper with family over the holidays.

Wednesday was take your kids to work day and Jay and Dad went to work at the store for the day. We went to see Hereafter last night and while the premice of the movie was good and the previews made it look interesting, the moving never got off the ground. I'm sorry to the creators but really 1/3rd of the movie had subtitles which was distracting. Too many of the story lines in the movie never went anywhere and there wasn't enough history given as to why the main character stopped doing readings. All the important things were explained away in 5 second snipps. I kept waiting for the interesting thing to happen and then all of a sudden after over 2 hours of waiting for the movie to get going it was over with nothing finished. My advice save your time and money do not invest 2 hours of your life in this store that never gets going.

Trick or Treat

One of the exciting parts about being a parent sometimes is being able to re-live your childhood through the excitement of your children. For us Halloween was always pretty creative as my Mom would have a big box of assorted parts and pieces of costumes that we got to sort through and try to piece a costume together. This year the kids have a couple of requests, my oldest son isn't quite sure what he's up to, but our daughter will be a witch, Kohl is going to be a pirate or a "cat in the hat", that one seems to be harder to find but we did find one online at halloweenadventures.com, they have every costume you could imagine, and our baby wants to be one thing and one thing only an Optimus Prime (Transformer). Halloween is coming and the kids have already planned their costumes out for the big night. I figure I will be working but I am going to try and get the weekend off if I can. Our oldest son thinks he is going to be going out with his friends, and will probably be an "army dude" again. Jay's average after 2 assignments and tests is over 100%. He went on to tell us that Jay is almost the perfect student that works hard and has the perfect attitude towards school. It was so good to here, he is off to a great start on all his grade 9 work with lot's of fantastic tests coming home so far.

We are getting so excited with Snow season coming up soon, we started skiing as a family late last winter, February on and we managed to go about 8 times in total. Instead of crashing back to bed once the kids get off to school this year I wanted to try something new. I recently discovered my new favorite pass time activity, on the way home I passed a new building with a sign that said free trial of tzone, 10 mins = 1 hour of exercise. My curiosity peaked I stopped in the next morning for my free trial and then got my membership the next day. It is so much fun and really relaxes my muscles. We arrived home the other day to find the dog had made her mark around the house while we were out. We close her in a bit when we go out, so she basically has access to 3 rooms when we are out. Outside Backyard Getaway

What a great plan we have for the weekend, for the last 2 summers we haven't been able to get any camping in with the kids because of other vacation plans. The weekend is supposed to be nice and we have a few jobs to do around the yard so it is official, the house is closed for the weekend except for "P" breaks and food preperation. The great thing is we have the BBq in the yard and the pool, and even the camping cheat (electric plug), can't wait for the fun!

Anniversary Getaway

We have official done it now, for the first time in over 10 years we are getting away with NO children to celebrate our Anniversary. Now the down side it is only for one night but I'm sure we will make the most of our one day away with out them all. It took a lot of arrangements to make sure all the kids were looked after but with help from family I'm sure they will survive the one night without us!

Jay has been enjoying a 2 week vacation visit to his Aunt's, he was looking forward to this time for months and originally his vacation was only going to be 1 week but that has turned into 2 weeks and now we just gave permission to allow him to stay another week as we are going on vacation in a week and can pick him up instead of them driving him all the way home. I'm sure he appreciates the time to visit family back home and a little break from his siblings.

Canada Day Relaxation

We decided to try something different for Canada Day this year, we had a BBQ and enjoyed the hot sunny day by the pool. It was very relaxing for a change of pace from our busy year of school and activities and a nice way to start the summer. Hopefully next year we spending the day in Florida at Disney Land for our family vacation if all our planning works out, crossing fingers!

Up goes the pool

With the fence finished it was time to get the pool up, we had a great weekend of weather and got up early Saturday to get the pool up. It went much better than last year and we had the pool up and filling in only a couple of hours. By the end of the day it was pretty much full and the kids were having a great but cold time. We bought a new solar cover and it had done a great job warming up the pool so we aren't pulling ice cubes out of the water when the kids are done.

Fun Fencing Project

Our fence was officially done, it had lasted as long as possible, we patched it up for a couple of years but this year it was having no more and we finally brought it down. We have a pool so bylaw says we need to have a fence so before we could set up the pool we had to get our bob the builder caps on and get the section rebuilt. We are able to patch up and give the rest a fresh coat of stain but the section beside the driveway is replaced now and maybe next year we will continue along the rest. It was a lot of fun working together to get the project done and a little stain it will look great.

Kitchen renovation

Now that we are finishing our kitchen renovations I have decided we need to redo the floor as well. Hubby did such a good job with the rest of the house and we have enough flooring left over so we will take it into the kitchen too. I can't wait to get this done because I really hated the floor now that we have the new stain on the cabinets and the flooring will match perfectly. Another project for Hubby but he needs something to keep him busy at night while I'm at work anyway.

I recently went away with 2 of our kids to a Dance competion leaving 2 kids home with hubby. He took the week off of work so he could be around for the kids, I figured he would be lazy and take the opportunity to sleep every day but to my surprise he acutally replaced all the flooring on the main story of our house. It wasn't a total surprise because I ran into one of his co-workers while away as they were putting in time at the mall before taking a flight to Disney. It was hilarious listening to him make up stories of what he was doing all week when I knew he was doing floors. It was too bad because it would have been a real impressive surprise if I didn't know, I have to give him credit for trying.

Shrek the finally

It's coming, just one more day and we will get to see how the journey ends for our friends in Shrek. Even better it will be in 3d so we get an extra special treat. The kids have been talking about it for weeks, we were hoping to go Friday but I have to work now for one of my co-workers Friday and Saturday so we will be planning on going Sunday instead. Sorry kids you will have to wait a couple of extra days to get there but we will enjoy it together.

I'm Lost

Oh no it had to happen the end of Lost is coming this weekend, I really enjoyed the run while it lasted. This was a show that you really never knew where it was going but just couldn't help but watch once you started. I'm not sure why the finally is Sunday and not the regular day hopefully not too many people miss this and are able to watch the finale.

Spending the last week away at dance competition, we had to divide and conquer with one of us staying home with 2 kids and 1 of us at the competition. While enjoying a lounge around the pool with some of the other dance moms Kohl was playing with one of the mom's babies, he was having a good time and asked me if I could have another baby. I told him that we couldn't have anymore babies, oh mommy why not he asked I tried over and over explain things to him and finally decided to put in terms he would understand and told him "daddy had his magic removed", the other girls burst out in laughter and he was finally satisfied with the answer.
